PM Modi urges fellow citizens in rural areas across India to actively participate in ‘Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas’ Abhiyan

Drawing inspiration from the ancient Vedic verse “विश्वं पृष्टं ग्रामे अस्मिन् अनातुरम्”, meaning “just as the world is complete in itself, so too should our villages be capable, empowered, and prosperous,” the Prime Minister emphasized the vision of creating self-sufficient and sustainable villages. He highlighted the significant role that each citizen and stakeholder plays in realizing this vision through their contributions to the GPDP, which is central to the holistic and sustainable development of Grameen Bharat.

Prime Minister’s message calls for widespread participation, urging everyone to help transform their Panchayats into thriving centre’s of growth and progress. He reiterated that the success of this initiative relies on collective effort, aiming to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth for all. Ministry of Panchayati Raj has requested all Panchayati Raj Institutions/ Rural Local Bodies to ensure this message reaches every corner of the country, inspiring everyone to take part in ‘Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas’ Abhiyan – People’s Plan Campaign for a stronger, self-reliant, developed and more prosperous India.

Union Minister of Panchayati Raj Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh has emphasized the campaign’s alignment with the vision of a developed (Viksit Bharat) and self-reliant India (Aatmanirbhar Bharat). He stressed the importance of unity in achieving the goal of holistic development and appealed to Sarpanchs, Panchayat members, and residents to participate with enthusiasm. Union Minister has highlighted that every voice and idea is significant in the development process. Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel has described the People’s Plan Campaign as a unique effort to strengthen the roots of democracy. He emphasized the empowerment of citizens to plan their village’s development and encouraged active participation in Gram Sabhas for formulating plans that address real needs. MoS has also pointed out the campaign’s link with Sustainable Development Goals and mentioned the invitation extended to frontline workers from various Line Departments to attend Gram Sabhas for dissemination of comprehensive information.

Today (2nd October), marks the nationwide rollout of the People’s Plan Campaign for the preparation of Panchayat Development Plans (PDPs) for 2025–26. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India, has made appeal to all Panchayats and stakeholders across the country, urging them to actively participate in this crucial “People’s Plan Campaign” (2024–25). The people’s Plan Campaign (Jan Yojana Abhiyan), embodying the spirit of ‘Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas’, is a significant initiative aimed at strengthening grassroots democracy and promoting inclusive development in Grameen Bharat. It empowers rural citizens to take an active role in shaping the future of their villages by participating in the planning process for local development.
