The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab reaffirmed and demonstrated that law and order is a priority for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his government. At a press conference held at the party office, AAP praised the Punjab Police for quickly solving the Khanna temple theft case and expressed gratitude to CM Mann for effectively leading the police department.

Minister Aman Arora addressed the media, stating that last Wednesday, a theft occurred at Shivpuri temple in Khanna, where holy idols were also desecrated. This incident hurt the sentiments of the people. Previously, such incidents often disturbed the peace of Punjab due to the government’s failure to resolve them. However, the Khanna temple theft was resolved in just a week, thanks to the efficiency of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Minister Aman Arora was accompanied by AAP spokesperson Neel Garg and the AAP leader Deepak Bali in this press conference.

Arora continued that on August 15th, around 4:00 am, the incident occurred, and within seven days, the culprits were arrested from different states. It was discovered that they were part of an interstate gang that had been operating since 2009. They targeted temples and other religious places, stole valuables, and then sold them in Lucknow. Although their methods were quite elaborate, no one can evade the law for long, especially with a capable force like the Punjab police and honest Mann government.

The AAP leader thanked Honorable Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who is also the Home Minister of Punjab, under whose direction and strict instructions Punjab DGO Gaurav Yadav, Ludhiana Range DIG Madam Dhanpreet Kaur, Young Officer SSP Ashwini Gotyal, and their entire team worked effectively to solve this case. He also congratulated the Punjab police for solving this case.

Arora said that the main culprit is wanted in about a dozen other cases. They were planning to commit thefts in two temples in the South, which has been avoided with these arrests. He called it a significant success for the Punjab police and praised CM Bhagwant Mann. Arora affirmed that one remaining culprit will also be arrested soon. The AAP leader thanked the people for their patience, their maintenance of peace, and their belief in the government and the system. He also commended MLA Tarunpreet Singh Sondh for managing the case effectively and reaching the temple within minutes of the incident.

Arora requested that CCTV cameras and manual security be installed at all religious places and urged people to conduct background checks on workers. He stated that under CM Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, the Punjab Police has eradicated gangsterism from Punjab and assured that anyone who tries to disrupt peace and law and order will not be spared. The AAP minister denied any communal angle to the incident and said that the thieves have no religion.
