Punjab Jio Users Connection News: Following a few years of calls for boycotting Reliance Jio, it has now become a dominant one in Punjab again. Reportedly, the number of Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel connections witnessed a hike.
A few years ago, the farmers’ protest was at its peak and it was then when the farmers had called for a boycott of these corporate houses.
The number of connections of a family in Punjab plummeted due to farmers’ protests but now regained its reputation. A report stated that Punjab has a total of 3.49 crore mobile connections by May 2024.
On average, every Punjabi has a mobile phone in his hand. In May 2019, there were a total of 3.91 crore mobile connections in Punjab and now after five and a half years, the number of these connections was reduced to 3.49 crore.
During these years, 42 lakh connections decreased in Punjab.
Reliance Jio had 1.39 crore connections in Punjab in May 2020. From August 2020, when the Samyukta Kisan Morcha called for the boycott of these corporate houses as a part of the farmers’ protest, to December 2021, when the farmers’ protest concluded, the number of Reliance Jio connections witnessed a significant drop.
