Bangladesh Clash News: Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Thursday issued an advisory for the Indians in Bangladesh wherein violent clashes have erupted causing a panic-like situation.
“The Indian community members and the Indian students residing in Bangladesh are advised to avoid travel and minimize their movement outside their living premises,” the statement stated.
The advisory comes amidst nationwide clashes between thousands of protesters and members of the student wing of Hasina’s ruling party, the Awami League.
The High Commission has also launched helpline numbers for various locations in Bangladesh, including Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet, and Khulna.

In the meanwhile, the student protesters have called for a nationwide shutdown of transportation and businesses, beginning this Thursday, aiming to pressure Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to abolish the government’s job quota system.
These protests pose the significant challenge to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government since her fourth consecutive term starting in January.
