Bengaluru police have arrested four foreign nationals in the Jigani area of rural Bengaluru for residing illegally in India. The individuals had reportedly been in the country for the past 10 years and moved to Bengaluru a year ago.
Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara, while addressing the situation, questioned the intelligence agencies’ failure to detect the illegal stay earlier. He revealed that the foreign nationals were in possession of fake Indian passports, adding that a thorough investigation into their activities and how they managed to obtain the fraudulent documents is underway.
“As per the information I received, these individuals have been in India for the last 10 years and came to Bengaluru a year ago. It raises concerns that intelligence agencies did not detect their presence or the fake passports,” Parameshwara stated.
Bengaluru Rural SP CK Baba confirmed that a case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing to determine the reasons behind their extended illegal stay in the country.
